Abstract

647,965. Furniture frames. SAUER, P. K. N., and ALLRAUM AKT.-GES. Oct. 1, 1947, No. 26504. [Class 52 (ii)] [Also in Groups X, XV and XVII] Frame members for panelled structures have two inwardly facing channels one of which receives the edge of an enclosed slab or panel while the other houses a detachable connector which secures the members at the comers. The connectors may be corner pieces 35, Fig. 14, secured by screws 36, or angled strips 10, Fig. 1, stiffened by webs 11, the flanges of the strips engaging behind ribs 9 in the channels while the parts are secured by rotatable cotters 12 passing through the webs. Similar cotters 17 connect the webs of the frames when two panel frames are joined at right angles. As applied to a picture frame the picture and glass 25 take the place of the panel and a detachable ornamental metal moulding 26, Fig. 10, can be applied to the frame members.
