Abstract

639,637. Electric fires. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., and DAVIDSON, F. D. March 9, 1948, No. 7242. [Class 39 (iii)] A guard for an electric fire comprises a plurality of parallel reflecting strips 10 (e.g. of aluminium) arranged with their planes at right-angles to that of the heating elements 3, the strips 10 being carried on a pair of parallel rods 11 having spacers 12. Two of the strips 10 have hooked rearwardly extending lugs which fit on the two outer wires 5, 8 of four wires 5, 6, 7, 8 which traverse the length of the opening in the body 2 of the fire. A reflector 4 of the type described in Specification 563,095 is incorporated in the fire.
