[Class 44] For securing beading 30, Fig. 5, of channel section to an apertured support, a waisted stud 36, formed of a single strip of spring metal, is held in the aperture 35 of a retainer plate 34 and the assembly is slid along inside the beading to cooperate with one of the 'apertures in the support. In the form of Fig. 5, the beading is of semicircular section the flat side having flanges 32 which engage and locate the stud. The feet 43, 44 of the stud are bent or bowed so as to engage resiliently both with the beading and the retainer 34. In a modification the retainer is formed of a metal plate having instead of an aperture, a slot at one side and the feet of the stud are sharply cranked downwardly so as to engage both the retainer and the beading. Another form of retainer for use with square channel'section beading, Fig. 13, carries side flanges 55 taking up the distance between the flanges 62 and web 61 of the beading. The stud 57 has straight feet 58, 59 of which one is shorter to permit the insertion of the stud into the retainer. The retainer may alternatively comprise a length of strip the ends of which are bent over and towards each other, the waist of the stud being accommodated in the gap between the ends or if the ends are almost in contact as in Fig. 15, in notches 71 cut in them. In another form shown in Fig. 19, the retainer 72 has an upstanding locating lug 74'formed at one end and adapted to engage in an aperture adjacent that for the stud.
