Abstract

739,845. Spring clips. KODAK, Ltd. March 8, 1954 [March 6, 1953], No. 6624/54. Class 44. [Also in Group XV] A clip for binding together an assembly of sheets 6, comprises a circumferentially resilient plastic tube 1 of circular crosssection having a slit extending from end to end, one or both longitudinal edges, 13, Fig. 5, or 2, Fig. 2, of the slit having a number of spaced projections 12 or 3 extending in the direction of curvature of the tube. The sheets 6 and covers 4, 5 are provided with perforations 10 into which the perforations 3, or 12, engage as shown, the resilience of the tube holding the inner sheets in position. The longitudinal edges 2 or 13, 14 are outwardly curved as at 11 to facilitate sideways entry of the sheets. The length of the projections 3, which engage each other when no or few sheets lie in the slits, is preferably slightly greater than the thickness of the tube 1. The projections 12, which engage the edge 14 with no or few sheets, have straight sides 15 joined by a curve 16, the distance between the sides 15 being approximately equal to the diameter of the perforations 10.
