Abstract

Natural rubber latex is coagulated by adding the product obtained by distilling shells of rubber seeds at 100-120 DEG C, allowing the distillate to form two layers, separating the top layer and removing the tar from it. Preferably 4 fluid ounces of this coagulant is added to each gallon of latex which has been diluted by adding 2 gallons of water. The coagulum thus obtained may be sun-dried and does not require to be smoked before use.
