Abstract
20. Clarkson, W. Jan. 2. Latex, coagulating. - Rubber and similar latices are coagulated, cleansed, and antiseptized by treatment with a mixture of alcohol, water, and aldehyde, with or without an odoriferous substance such as musk. The addition is made while the solution is still hot as a result of the interaction of the alcohol and water. The latex may be poured into the solution, or vice versa, and preferably air is excluded.
