Abstract

219,635. Utermark, W. L. July 28, 1923, [Convention date]. Latex, treating.-Milk saps, particularly rubber latex are concentrated by separation by centrifugal action into two portions, one of which contains a higher proportion of solids, and the other a lower than the original latex. The latex is placed in a centrifugal separator and submitted to intensive centrifutaticn for a small number of revolutions (5,000-10,000). Latex containing 35 per cent of solids is treated until a portion is obtained containing 45 per cent, but it is possible to obtain a portion containing 58-60 per cent of solids. Preservatives &c. mav be added to the latex.
