Abstract
237.087. Mladejovsky, V. July 8, 1924. Medicines for internal use.-The proteolytic ferment is extracted from Drosera Rotundifolia by means of a dilute solution of silicate of sodium, whereby the effective ferments are preserved and act destructively on the drosera, permitting the useful components to be obtained. The solution is inspissated in a vacuum, in known manner, at a temperature not exceeding 40‹ C. to a state of concentration at which the silicic acid formed in the process only just remains in solution. In an example, 200 grains of ¢ per cent solution of sodium silicate are allowed to act on 5 grains of the drosera; a little sugar may be added to improve the taste.
