Abstract
519,467. Hydrogen peroxide. ADOLPH, G:, and BRETSCHGER, M. E. Oct. 17, 1938, No. 30024. Convention date, Nov. 17, 1937. [Class 1 (ii)] In a cyclic process for the production of hydrogen peroxide from a solution of ammonium bisulphate and sulphuric acid comprising converting the bisulphate into persulphate by electrolysis, followed by distillation re-converting the persulphate into bisulphate, the salt in the liquor left by the distillation is crystallized out by cooling and dissolved in water to produce a solution which is then subjected to electrolysis, the separated acid or a portion thereof being added to this solution after the electrolysis but before renewed distillation. The crystallized ammonium bisulphate may be separated from the acid by centrifuging and the acid may be treated for the removal of impurities before it is added to the solution after electrolysis. Specification 23,660/10, [Class 1 (ii)], is referred to. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 23,660/10, [Class 1 (ii)].
