Abstract
617,863. Lubricators. KREMER, R. W., and KREMER, H. W. May 2, 1941, No. 5762. Convention date, Feb. 14, 1940. [Class 12 (iii)] A grease-cup with a spring-pressed piston has a manually-actuated outlet valve with passages of different capacities. The cup 1, Fig. 1, has a piston 3 with spring 4 and hollow rod 5 leading to the supply connection 6, the piston carrying a sieve 7. The outlet 8 carries a valve 9 with passages 12-14 of increasing area, the valve being raised by an eccentric pin 16 on a shaft 15 with a head having recesses 20 for actuation by a pin-key. The head carries an indicator 18, and ball catches may be arranged to determine the valve setting. In a modification, the valve is raised by a pin on an outer rotary sleeve engaging a helical slot in the valve ; the sleeve may carry an indicating pointer. In an alternative form, Fig. 5, the valve consists of a plug having a series of unequal passages 29 which can be aligned with an aperture 31 in a cover disc which is rotated by worm gear, or the passages 29 may be of the same area and the cover disc be provided with several apertures. Fig. 6 shows the valve provided by the outlet 8 having a series of apertures 33 helically or vertically arranged and brought into operation by screwing the cap 1 down on the outlet 8.
