Abstract
422,045. Force feed lubricators. MACINDOE, J. F., 3603, Queen Lane, East Falls, Philadelphia, U.S.A. May 27, 1933, No. 15410. Divided out of 420,011. [Class 12 (iii)] A lubricator comprises a cup 2 which is adapted to be secured to a bearing, has an inlet 5 for filling with lubricant, and in which is telescopically arranged an inverted cup 1, one end of a tension spring 16 being held by a plate 14 anchored by pins 13 in the cup 2 while the other end of the spring is secured to a nut 17 adjustably threaded on a rod 9 which is anchored to the cup 1 by a pin 11. The rod 9 extends through the outlet from the cup 2, and has an enlarged head which closes the outlet when the lubricator is filled and prevents complete separation of the two cups. A spring-loaded safety valve 20 relieves excess pressure when the outlet is closed.
