Abstract
348,961. Force-feed lubricators. TECALEMIT, Ltd., Mitre House, Scrubbs Lane, Willesden, London. July 21, 1930, No. 22005. Convention date, April 9. Addition to 241,957, [Class 12 (iii), Lubricators &c.]. [Class 12 (iii).] The lubricator according to the parent Specification is modified by forming the piston as an inverted cup 3 which is displaced by the pressure of the lubricant supplied through the inlet la over a cylindrical fixed member 4 provided with an outlet orifice 7, a determined annular play being provided between the piston and the cylinder and also between the piston and the wall 1 of the lubricator for the passage of lubricant from above to below the piston on the upward movement of the latter caused by the action of the spring 5 when the supply pressure is relieved. The cylinder 4 may be formed integral with the base 2 of the lubricator or be held in position thereon by the spring 5. A conical valve 6 carried in the piston closes the outlet orifice 7 at the end of the discharge stroke. Alternatively, a leather washer arranged within the piston may engage the rim of the cylinder 4 at the end of the stroke. A spring-loaded ball valve may be arranged in the outlet passage 12.
