Abstract

617,679. Lawn mowers. WEBB & CO.. Ltd, H. C.. and TAYLOR, F. W. Oct. 16, 1946, No. 30737. [Class 6 (ii)] A mounting for the grass-box of a lawn mower comprises strap brackets 9, angularly adjustable on the sides of the box, which receive the upper ends of the adjusting brackets 5 for the front roller 4 of the mower and which rest upon the side plates 1 of the machine,. The mounting is shown applied to a lawn mower provided with a rear roller 2 and a cutter cylinder 3 mounted between a pair of side plates 1 which also carry the slotted brackets 5 for the height-adjusting front roller 4. The grass-box 8 is provided with strap brackets 9 through which pass the upper ends of the slotted brackets 5. The strap brackets rest upon the side plates 1. One end of each strap bracket is adjustably secured to the grassbox by means of a wing nut 13 and slot 12, the other end being pivoted, at 10, on the box. The grass-box may thus be adjusted relatively to the main frame independently of the front roller adjustment.
