616,680. Lamp-holders. WATERTIGHT FITTINGS, Ltd., and WILLIAMS, A. K. Sept. 23, 1946, No. 28415. [Class 38 (i)] A socket for a screwed-cap lamp. has a longitudinal slit or slits 3 extending over at least the screwed portion, and a helical spring 4 of the same pitch as the screwthread is arranged on the outside of the socket to compress it on to the lamp cap, the socket itself being of a diameter normally to receive the screwed cap. One end of the spring is bent through 180 degrees at 8 to form a hook engaging a notch 7 in the socket so as to secure the spring.
