Abstract

616,576. Screwing; die heads. WINN & CO., Ltd., C., and WALKER, J. Sept. 10, 1946, No. 27096. [Class 83 (iii)] A rotatable die-head for screwing rods and tubes is provided with a cam-ring for controlling the dies which carries a bolt c projecting through an arcuate slot d in the rear plate for locking it thereto; the rear face of the cam-ring is provided with an arcuate slot in which an arcuate bar h is seated which is aligned with the slot d and carries an adjustable stop n adjusted to abut the end of the slot d to define the position of the dies. A scale may be provided on the cam-ring for setting the stop n. The dies may be opened automatically as described in Specification 616,575.
