Abstract

614,885. Tanks. BRABY & CO., Ltd., F., HESELWOOD, C., FRYER, H., PITTARD, H. F., and RICHARDSON, F. Aug. 12, 1946, No. 23808. [Class 69 (i)] [Also in Group XVIII] The periphery of an access-manhole for a tank is stiffened by an externally indented shallow groove c of channel cross-section. The cover is secured in position by nuts k on the stems of bolts e extending through and projecting from the base of the groove, the heads of the bolts being inside the tank and the bolts being locked in position by square nuts h fitting into the groove. A packing ring j is provided between the cover and the tank. The base of the groove c and of each nut h may be flat or of half-round cross-section.
