680,829. Manhole covers. MOFFAT, R. P. Feb. 2, 1951 [Feb. 3, 1950]. No. 2806/50. Class 123 (i). A manhole. &c. cover 15 is secured within an oval ring or frame 10, riveted around an opening in a tank wall 12, by screws 17 which are spaced around the periphery of the cover and have tapered nuts 18 adapted to engage a co-operating inclined face 14 on said frame 10. The outer side of the cover has a central hand-knob 21, also locating stubs, not shown, to engage the frame 10; and fluid-tightness is effected by a. rubber sealing gasket) 16 which is housed within a recess in the frame to be engaged by a bead 13 on the frame 10.
