586,083. Lock nuts. NEWTON & CO., Ltd., L. H., and HANDS, W. E. Nov. 3, 1944, No. 21571. [Class 89 (i)] Lock nuts have a reduced polygonal extension b slotted at c and preferably grooved at d. A corresponding polygonal ring e is retained on the extension by a spring ring f or by an internal lip on the ring that is sprung into an upper groove in the extension. The nut is locked by displacing the ring through a small angle. Recesses j prevent accidental unlocking.
