[Class 83 (ii)] [Also in Group XIII] A heat transferring fin plate 2 is attached to a previously coiled heat exchanger tube in particular for an absorption type refrigerating system, so as to interconnect and stiffen the coils by means of tabs 4 which are deformed before assembly, as shown at 4a in Fig. 4, so that they can pass between contiguous tube portions and after assembly are again deformed into positions in which they lock the fin plate to the coiled tube. The tube and fin assembly may be tinned or galvanised or immersed in a paint having good heat conducting properties. In a modification the fin plate is U-shaped in cross-section and is locked on to a single heat exchanger tube at two edges.
