Abstract
713,776. Heat-exchange elements. ROVER CO., Ltd. Oct. 23, 1952 [Nov. 23, 1951], No. 27505/51. Class 64(3) [Also in Group XXII] A heat-exchanger tube, Figs. 2, 3, is made from a single thin metal strip a which after the formation of transverse corrugations b is smoothed out along its longitudinal margins c and along its longitudinal axis d, Fig. 1, where it is then folded so that its smoothed margins c may be joined by interlocking the edges and/or by copper-brazing or other brazing. The ends are smoothed out at e to form an inlet g or outlet h as shown in Fig. 3. Instead of the edges of the tubes being bevelled as shown, they may be semi-elliptical or semi-circular. Tubes are superimposed in a heat-exchanger with crests of successive tubes in contact to form passages for one fluid.
