Abstract
684,830. Heat-exchangers. LODDING, H. Oct. 1, 1951, No. 22823/51. Class 64 (iii) Relates to heat-exchangers of the kind having regularly-spaced parallel tubes 1 with flanges 5 arranged between headers 2, 3, one heat-exchange medium passing through the tubes and the other passing over the tubes perpendicularly thereto. According to the invention, the dimensions a, b, c, Fig. 2, are so proportioned that the relation b/a varies between 8 : 1 and 20 : 1 and the relation c/a varies between 2.5: 1 and 6:1. The flanges are preferably produced by turning a screw thread in the material of the tube itself.
