Abstract
820,772. Tubular heat exchange elements. HUET, A. Nov. 20, 1957 [Nov. 21, 1956], No. 36164/57. Class 64(3) A heat exchanger tube a having spaced longitudinal fins b, is provided with means for deflecting fluid passing over the tube towards the root of the fins and towards the surfaces of the tube between the fins. The fluid deflection may for example be effected by deforming alternate fins in the manner shown in Fig. 1, or alternatively each fin may be deformed (Fig. 3, not shown). In a further form (Fig. 2) a perforated envelope f surrounds a conventional longitudinally finned tube, and tongues i integral with the envelope constitute baffles by means of which the necessary fluid deflection according to the invention is effected.
