Abstract
1,038,556. Heat exchanger tubes. D. F. OOSTERBAAN. April 16, 1963 [April 16, 1962], No. 14912/63. Heading F4S. A finned heat exchanger tube 5 comprises a plurality of nested elements each comprising a plate member in which is formed at least one flanged aperture 2 having one end 4 of reduced diameter which, on assembly, is received in the aperture 2 of an adjacent element, the flange being formed by cutting a hole in the plate, forming the flange from the plate material immediately around said hole, and raising the flange to the required height by thinning. A plurality of holes may be formed in the fin portion 1 of the element (Figs. 1 to 3, not shown).
