Abstract
613,675. Bracelets. GIROD, H. June 26, 1946, Nos. 19048 and 19049. Convention dates, July 2, 1945. [Class 43] Each link of an expanding bracelet comprises a box-shaped case inside which a slide, held therein by a spring device moves said slide comprising a plate folded in the middle to form a housing for an axle which connects the slide with the case of the adjacent link, and has pivots which can be displaced axially, permitting the links to be undone so that the length can be adjusted by adding or removing links. A slide 33, shaped like a flat open-sided box moves in another box-shaped case 34, provided at one end with lugs 36 bent round to form abutments for one end of a Z- shaped blade spring 37, the other end of which is supported by one end of the slide 33. Two links 30 are united by an axle 31, which fits into a sleeve 32 integral with the slide 33 and comprises a tube 22, which houses pistons 23, 24 ending in pivots 25, 26. The pistons cannot leave the tube, but are spring- urged apart, so that the pivots 25, 26 enter eyes formed in lugs 35 at the end of the case remote from the lugs 36. To unlock the links the pivots are displaced in the tube 22 by a tool ; the ends of the tube 22 may be longitudinally slotted so that the pistons 23, 24 can be seized by tweezers and displaced inwardly, in which case the holes for the pivots 25, 26 may be blind.
