Abstract

612,664. Centrifugal pumps. PENSABENE, N. May 29, 1946, No. 16332. [Class 110 (i)] A centrifugal pump unit adapted to form in conjunction with an impeller, one stage of a multi-stage pump comprises a body S having a circular cavity C extending into it from one end to form chamber and having at its other end a circular spigot portion B which fits into the chamber C of an adjoining unit. The chamber C is provided with circumferentially spaced diffuser grooves V in the plane of the impeller, having lateral extensions V<1> covered by the entering spigot portion of the adjoining unit and communicating with passages D leading to the eye of the next impeller.
