Abstract

611,573. Vehicle wheels. KELSEY-HAYES WHEEL CO. May 2, 1946, No. 13383. Convention date, June 11, 1945. [Class 144 (ii)] A wheel rim comprises a fixed main portion 1 formed with a tyre-retaining flange 5, a coned bead-seat 8, a central well-base portion 4, and an edge-groove 6 to receive a split locking- ring 2 for the detachable side-flange 3. The latter is formed with a coned bead-seating portion 17 adapted to telescope on to the part 4, and an internal rib 19 which is of lesser diameter than the part 4 and forms the abutment for the locking-ring. The latter is shown of tubular form with outer coned faces 15, 16 to co-operate with the flared inner surface of the flange 3.
