Abstract
609,056. Operating clutches. CARDIFF FOUNDRY & ENGINEERING CO., Ltd., and GLASTONBURY, J. R. March 5, 1946, No. 6766. [Class 80 (ii)] In a mechanism for actuation of a onerevolution clutch to obviate accidental repetition of a working stroke of a power-driven machine, a stop 8 bears against a lever 6 secured to a segmental key 5 in the disengaged position of the clutch shown in the Figure. Depression of a trigger 110 by actuation of a lever 14 causes the stop 8 to be moved clear of the lever 6 which under the action of a spring 7 rotates so that it abuts against the stop 30, the segmental key thus engaging a keyway in the driving member. During the rotation of member 3, finger 13 strikes trigger head 11 moving it clear of the stop 8 which returns to its original position under the action of a spring 17. During subsequent rotation of the member 3, trigger head 11 rides over the cam surface 12 and is thus prevented from reengaging stop 8. On completion of the revolution, the lever 6 is struck by stop 8 causing disengagement of the clutch.
