Abstract
166,318. TetÚtleni, A. April 1, 1920. Addition to 141,045, [Class 83 (iv), Metals, Working]. Driving machines.- The driving member 8, instead of the driven member, of gear as described in the parent Specification, is formed in accordance with a work resistance diagram. The driving cam 8 may act directly on the ram 4, Fig. 9, or on an actuating lever 5, Fig. 1. The ram is returned by a spring or positively by using a groove or annular cam or by a cam surface 11 which may be on the cam 8, Fig. 4, on the driving gear 26, Fig. 9, or on the driven member 5, Fig. 7, and engaged by a pin 16 on the cam 8. In the case of a spring or an annular cam, the ram can be raised for adjustment of the tool by reversing the rotation of the driving cam, and the cam surface 11 may be extended as at 11<a>, Fig. 9, for this purpose also. The working or return cam faces may be made detachable as shown in Figs. 1 and 9, and may be inclined gradually at the beginning and then as steeply as the angle of friction will allow.
