Abstract

538,432. Turning. SCHWOB, T. Oct. 30, 1939, No. 29010. [Class 83 (iii)] End working tools for lathes having auxiliary cam shafts for effecting the idle movements as described in Specification 538,430 are fed by a lever 4 having a roller 5 engaging a slot in a member 7 attached to the tool slide or turret. The lever 4 is pivoted to a bar 8 reciprocated by a lever 11 and cam 14 on the slow motion feed cam shaft 15; a roller 17 on the other end of the lever engaging a groove in a cam 19 driven by the intermittently rotated high speed cam shaft for the idle movements. Each cam connection thus acts in turn as fulcrum for the other cam.
