[Class 103 (i)] In a liquid - pressure braking system for vehicles comprising a master cylinder or equivalent and, on some or all of the wheels, brake cylinders arranged two to each wheel and each actuating a separate braking element, flow restricting means are interposed in the conduits between the master cylinder &c. and one brake cylinder on each of said wheels so as to provide a greater resistance to flow of liquid through said conduits than through the conduits connecting the -remaining brake cylinders to the master cylinder &c. In one form, Fig. 1, each of the front brakes 10, 11 and rear brakes 12, 13 comprises a pair of leading shoes 25, 26 pivoted at opposite ends 27, 28 and acting on a common drum. The shoes 25 are actuated by brake cylinders 29 connected to a pedaloperated master cylinder 14, and the shoes 26 by brake cylinders 30 supplied from the cylinders 29 by pipes 31 including flow restricting devices indicated diagrammatically at 32. The devices 32 may be constituted by the pipes 31 themselves if these are of small bore as compared with the pipes connecting the cylinders 29 to the master cylinder, or by restricted passages in the adaptors connecting the pipes 31 to one of the brake cylinders. In a modification, Fig. 2 (not shown), the front brakes comprise pairs of leading shoes actuated as in Fig. 1, while each of the rear brakes comprises a pair of shoes mounted on a common pivot and expanded by a single brake cylinder connected directly to the master cylinder. According to the Provisional Specification, the flow restricting means may be interposed in the conduit connecting the master cylinder to the front or rear brakes.
