Abstract

1473228 Fluid pressure braking and steering control apparatus WABCO WESTINGHOUSE GmbH 29 Oct 1974 [31 Oct 1973] 46754/74 Heading F2F A braking and steering control apparatus, for an hydraulically braked vehicle having facilities for towing a trailer, comprising two master cylinders 5, 6 interconnected by a pressure balancing means and connected to right hand and left hand brake circuits respectively includes a spring-loaded control piston 23 for a trailer brake circuit and a piston 20 of the pressure balancing means in a common additional cylinder 7. The cylinder 7 contains a pressure chamber 30 connected to the trailer brake and pressure chambers 32, 33 located on opposite sides of piston 20 and connected by bores 39, 40 with the respective master cylinders. The application of either or both sets of brakes causes an increase in pressure in chamber 38 so that the trailer brakes are applied.
