608,028. False-twist devices. HEBERLEIN & CO. AKT-GES. Oct. 27, 1944, No. 21627/47. Convention date, Oct. 29, 1943. Divided out of 606,257. [Class 120(ii)] A device for imparting a temporary high twist to a yarn travelling between two fixed points comprises a sleeve A rotating about an axis in the line connecting the two fixed points, provided with a guide roller B, gripping the yarn E and rotating about an axis at right angles to that of the sleeve, and mounted so as to be tangential to the line along which the yarn runs. In the form shown in Fig. 2, the weight of the roller is counterbalanced by a crossbar C, and the roller B is provided with a groove for the reception of a single turn of the yarn; in that shown in Fig. 4, a counterpressure roller C<SP>1</SP> is provided, mounted on an arm D pivoted at D<SP>1</SP> and provided with a centrifugal weight D<SP>2</SP> which causes the roller C<SP>1</SP> to bear against the roller B to grip the yarn E when the device is rotated.
