Class 120(2) A false-twist device has a rotatable member provided with an intermediate portion of smaller diameter than and which is freely rotatable with respect to the end portions. Yarn is drawn through a tube 2 fixed in a base 1 and along one of two channels 7 in a driven sleeve 5 to pass two or more times round the intermediate portion 10 which may be a plain cylinder or have a concave surface. From the intermediate portion 10, yarn passes through one of two channels 12 in a cap 11.
