Abstract

619,195. Crimping filaments. HEBERLEIN & CO. AKT.-GES. Nov. 26, 1946, No. 35038. Convention date, Jan. 21. 1946. [Class 120(iii)] In the production of permanent crimping effects on continuous filaments by imparting a temporary high twist thereto, as they pass between two fixed points 1, 2, by means of a twisting device D located between 1 and 2, the twisting device D is located at the minimum distance from point 2 (e.g. 25-50cm.) comparable with the imparting to and removal from the filaments of the desired degree of twist, so as to reduce to a minimum the crimp-diminishing effect of stress on a filament F while the latter is reverse-twisted in zone a. Specifications 424,880, 442,073, 464,981 and 608,028 are referred to.
