Abstract

Tricalcium phosphate is treated with a mixture of sulphuric and nitric acids in which the weight ratio HNO3/H2SO4 is at least unity and the water present is of the order of 35 per cent by weight, and in such quantity that the conversion to mono- and dicalcium phosphate does not exceed 85 per cent. The granular product may be neutralized with ammonia or ammonium carbonate or bicarbonate.ALSO:A granular fertilizer obtained by treating tricalcium phosphate with a mixture of sulphuric and nitric acids in such quantity that the conversion to mono and di-calcium phosphate does not exceed 85 per cent may be neutralized with ammonia or ammonium carbonate or bicarbonate.
