Abstract

316,583. Holz, A. July 31, 1928, [Convention date]. Manures.-Rock phosphate is treated with sulphuric acid, preferably in slight excess, and after the removal of one-third of the calcium sulphate the mother liquor comprising a mixture of calcium sulphate and phosphoric acid is treated with ammonia at a pressure exceeding atmospheric, for example, 15 pounds per sq. inch, di-calcium phosphate being precipitated. The product may be dried to form a fertilizer containing di-calcium phosphate and ammonium sulphate.
