Abstract

606,462. Reciprocating pumps. INTEGRAL, Ltd., and WORLIDGE, R. F. Jan. 15, 1946, No. 1361. [Class 102 (i)] A hydraulic control system comprises a two-stage pump, the second stage unit being a piston pump having radial cylinders whose pistons are operated on their working stroke by an eccentric with which they are held in contact by the pressure of the fluid supplied to them by the first stage unit which may be of the gear-pump type, provided with a valve for relieving the first stage pressure to below the minimum required to restore the second stage pistons and means for opening this valve actuated by movement of the member driven by the delivery of the pump. The pump is similar to that described in Specification 582,182 except that the relief valve is now actuated by a mechanical coupling which may be of any known construction connected to the member driven by the delivery of the pump.
