Abstract

1,005,661. Hydraulic pumps. L. BAINES. Sept. 19, 1961 [Sept. 28, 1960], No. 33369/60. Heading F1A. The output of a hydraulic pump with inlet and outlet valves 15, 18 is controlled by a control plunger 60 axially movable to vary the stroke of a spring-loaded free piston 58, Fig. 1, in an auxiliary cylinder 52 connected to the main cylinder 13, the pressure in space 52 acting on piston 60 being balanced by a passage 62 transmitting the pressure to the rear face of the piston. The control plunger is adjusted by a rotatable member 65 engaging a recess in the piston. In a multicylinder pump the members 65 are mounted on a common shaft for simultaneous adjustment.
