Abstract

606,032. Stuffing-boxes. TRICO PRODUCTS CORPORATION. Jan. 8, 1946, No. 722. Convention date, Jan. 13, 1945. [Class 122 (v)] A vacuum motor has a cylinder 2 and a piston 1 therein. A power transmitting band 3 is connected to the piston 1 and extends through openings 14 in each of end walls 4 of the cylinder. The cylinder is sealed by a gasket 15 of resilient or rubber-like material, the band passing through a slot in the gasket with friction fit. The gasket 15 is formed with a flange 16 which is dished at 19 and.is centred in a dished portion 18<1> of the end wall 4 and is retained by a stop 26. A coil spr,ing 21 may embrace the body portion 15 or the body thickness may be reduced and reinforcing ribs employed.
