Abstract

605,420. Micrometer gauges. ROCH, P. Dec. 21, 1945, No. 34794. Convention date, Dec. 28, 1944. [Class 106 (ii)] A clamping-device for the spindle of a micrometer caliper gauge comprises a housing 1 slidable in a transverse bore in the bearing 2 of the movable anvil 3 to clamp a split sleeve member 6 on the anvil. As shown, the housing 1 is cylindrical with an open end closed by a screw plug 5, and tapered at 9 to co-operate with an enlargement 7 on the sleeve 6 which is loosely mounted on the anvil and split at 8. The sleeve 6 could be tapered and a projection could be arranged on the housing, or balls could be inserted between the housing 1 and the sleeve 6, to effect clamping.
