605,410. Escalator wheels. EXPRESS LIFT 'CO., Ltd., and WIGGETT, A. Dec. 21, 1945, No. 34764. [Class 78 (i)] A wheel or roller for an escalator comprises a pair of centrally apertured discs 1, of substantially similar construction, secured together and so formed that a resilient tyre 5 is held in positior between the discs at their outer periphery and a bearing or bear ings 7 is held in position betweer the discs at their inner periphery The discs may be riveted together for easy-separation, or bolted, and the outer surfaces of the discs in contact with the tyre may b( serrated. The bearings may be ball, sleeve or roller.
