Abstract

805,010. Skate wheels. DAVIES STEEL SPECIALITIES Ltd. Jan. 4, 1957 [Jan. 5, 1956], No. 400/56. Class 144 (1). A roller skate wheel comprises a rubber or like body 1 with an axial bore, the two ends of which are each enlarged to provide a recess 1a to receive an outer race cup 2 of a ball-bearing, the inner races of the bearings being formed by two sleeves 4, 5 which extend into the wheel body bore, to abut at 6 at the centre thereof, and are enlarged at their outer ends 4a, 5a to engage the balls 7, and the sleeves 4, 5 being retained in position by an axle-receiving tube 3 extending through the sleeves and having its ends riveted over the sleeve ends 4a, 5a. The balls may be replaced by rollers and either may be held in cages. The sleeve enlargements 4a, 5a may be replaced by separate annular members.
