Abstract

955,185. Roller skates. C. A. RAYBONE. Nov. 30, 1962 [Nov. 30, 1961], No. 42807/61. Heading A6D. [Also in Division F2] A bearing for the wheel of a roller skate comprises balls located between a flanged hub member and a cup, the hub member and cup being secured together by a split ring or clip fitted to the hub member. As shown in Fig. 2, the hub member 10 projects through an aperture in the cup 12 and is secured relative thereto by a split ring 10b. Alternatively, the hub member terminates within the cup and is fitted with a clip which extends through the aperture in the cup. A preferred form of roller skate wheel 21 for use with such bearings comprises a recess 20 on each side, one bearing being inserted in each recess. The hub members 10 are adapted to receive an axle 25 held in place by a nut on its screw-threaded portion 25a.
