Abstract

[Class 35] In an A.C. generator, a lowresistance non-magnetic damper is provided inside each end winding, between the end conductors and the stator end plates. In the form shown, a loop 7 of copper or brass is provided inside each end coil 4 and its circuit is closed by the non - magnetic core end plate 5. Alternatively, a coating of non-magnetic metal, e.g. aluminium or lead alloy may be applied to the end windings and the adjacent parts of the core end plate.
