Abstract

[Class 135] [Also in Groups XXVIII, XXXII and XXXV] An unloading valve 2 connected to the delivery pipe 1 of an air compressor system (see Group XXVIII) comprises a hollow piston 3 urged to its open position by the rod 11 of a spring-urged dashpot piston 12 against a spring 7, and is closed when the compressor is started by compressed air gaining access through a vent 6 to the upper side of the piston to pile up pressure thereon. The rate of closing of the valve is dependent on the setting of a regulating valve 17 controlling the oil flow between the upper and lower sides of the piston 12. Member 19 is an oil filler.
