Abstract
602,600. Hot-water boilers. LAMBERT, A. J., and WHITE TILE HEATERS, Ltd. May 11, 1945, No. 11929. [Class 64(i)] In a water heater comprising a water vessel 1 with gas burners 6 mounted in an internal burner chamber 2 which has fins or ribs 8 formed on its walls and an outlet flue 28 opening from its upper part, any one baffle 30 of a plurality of interchangeable baffles having central holes 32 of different sizes is supported at the inlet opening to the outlet flue 28, to vary and control the flow of combustion products through the flue. The burner jets 6 are interchangeable to vary the flow of gas. A baffle 12, which is also one of a number, in this case of different diameters may rest on the fins 8. The baffle 12 may have a depending skirt. The fins 8 may be “ inch thick in a burner chamber of 5 inches diameter, and fins 10 of the same or slightly greater thickness are provided in the water space.
