[Class 29] [Also in Group II] In machines of the type having a rotatable container 1 mounted on a vertical shaft 2, and an eccentric stirring blade 3 rotated in the opposite direction by a vertical spindle 4 driven from the shaft 2 by gearing mounted in a lateral arm 11 of a supporting column 6, the driving motor 21 is mounted horizontally on an oppositely extending external arm 22 of the column so as to balance the weight of the gearing &c. The shaft 2 passes through the upper and lower walls of the gear casing 11 and is driven from the motor by gearing 13, 14. A worm wheel 7 on the shaft 2 drives the spindle 4 which is mounted in a bearing 5 attached to the column.
