Abstract
456,591. Mixing -machines. COX, H. E., 131, City Road, Bristol. June 4, 1935, No. 16086. [Class 86] In a change pan mixer in which rotary motion is imparted to the pan and to an eccentrically-mounted mixing shaft, a common upright shaft drives the turntable on which the pan is mounted by gearing disposed below the turntable. In the form shown, the shaft 1 is enclosed in a casing 2 and drives the mixing shaft 4 by gearing 5 and the turntable 12 by gearing 10, 11 mounted in a pedestal 3. The blades 24 are carried by a head 23 splined to the shaft 4 ; alternatively, the shaft 4 may be splined in the gearing 5. In another form, the blade shaft is carried on a pivoted arm movable into and out of operative position.
