Abstract

260,745. Parnall, J. B., and Veitch, W. W. Oct. 10, 1925. Stationary mixers with stirrers having complex motions; rotary mixers.-Mixing apparatus comprises a number of mixing blades freely rotatable in a stationary or rotating pan about an axis eccentric to the pan. Fig. 1 shows a form in which the pan 1 is supported on a table 2 rotated by bevel gear 7, 8, and into which project the freely-rotatable mixing blades 15. The head 14, on which the 'blades are mounted, is carried on a pivoted, counter-weighted arm 13, and a fixed scraper 16 for the side of the pan is provided. In the form shown in Fig. 3, the blades 15 are carried on an arm 21 rotated by hand in stationary pan and carrying the scraper 16.
