Abstract

293,206. Todhunter, W., and Prior, E. R. July 16, 1927. Rotary mixers.-A mixer of the rotary tilting drum type has the drum interior of multi-foil shape and is provided with central screw - threaded member. The drum, which may be driven by hand or power, consists of a pan 1 and conical extension 2, and the central member consists of a core 3 with a spiral fin 4. As shown, the core is extended to, form a trunnion 6 for the drum; in another form the drum is mounted on a shaft provided with bearings in the core. The pan and central member may be cast integrally and the latter may be stationary or rotate either with the drum, or oppositely; it may move the material towards or away from the mouth.
